Has spring sprung? Not a cloud in the sky outside today, and temperatures in the sunshine well above freezing. Birds singing in the trees, etc etc. Of course I'm inside in a nasty little air-conditioned box feeling annoyed that I'm not outside. All our offices have big windows which is nice, except for we really do get to see what we're missing. I'm watching ducks flying busily around. People strolling across the frozen ice, the smoke from the chimney of a nearby heating-plant heading vertically upward undisturbed by even a breath of wind. I actually seriously considered becoming a mountaineering instructor when I first finished university, but rejected the idea on the basis that ultimately it wouldn't fulfill me. Days like this are enough to make me reconsider.
